NICABM is seeking a creative, motivated, and talented Client Relations Intern to join our team in Storrs, CT.
This is a unique internship for someone with exemplary communication skills, a keen eye to detail, and an eagerness to go above and beyond. The Client Relations Intern will support customers at every stage in their journey with our company. You’ll spend part of your day on NICABM email, phone, LiveChat, and Facebook messenger making sure our students and followers are looked after, feel special and have everything they need to keep making progress. You’ll also be expected to think critically about common issues, and brainstorm with other departments about ways to improve our customers’ experience.
The ideal Client Relations Intern will focus on creating warm, genuine, and helpful experiences for our customers. They will also have strong organization skills, and the ability to balance a wide range of tasks, always with high standards.

Responsibilities
- Provide the highest quality of support and assistance to existing and potential customers
- Respond quickly and professionally to unforeseen crises and issues
- Represent the company with professionalism and charisma
- Proactively identify and address customer issues, and work with other departments to ensure timely and effective solutions
- Based on customer feedback, advocate for continual improvements to our products, website usability, and other customer experiences
- Monitor comments being made on our blog and in our programs in order to:
- address technical problems
- address questions about the content or program
- facilitate community engagement
- find ways we can improve our products
- find new topics that we can create products about

If you have a genuine interest in creating impact through digital communication, successful websites, and online platforms, and have excellent communication and superior writing skills, NICABM is seeking a WRITING & COMMUNICATIONS INTERN to join the team in Storrs, CT.
The internship will give you the opportunity to grow, develop, and enhance your professional skills in a fast-paced, collaborative, and innovative environment.
This is a part-time, paid position.
Responsibilities
- Research and write blog posts on selected topics in mind-body medicine
- Draft emails and social media posts to engage with our audience in a friendly, conversational tone
- Draft interview questions and speaker agendas for webinar programs
- Assist in the planning and creation of social media content across various social platforms
- Monitor social media analytics and synthesize data to make recommendations to better engage with users and grow followers
- Provide friendly and effective customer service over the phone and via email
- Some administrative and office duties
Qualifications
- Superior writing ability
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Strong knowledge of basic computer programs
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- A positive attitude and flexibility for last-minute changes

Graphic Design and Illustration Internship (Paid)
If you’re a student who’s seeking to build your professional portfolio, this is a great opportunity to use your creative talent to gain professional experience. NICABM is seeking a Graphic Design & Illustration intern to join the team in our Storrs office. We’re looking for motivated people to support our advertising and web development team with digital projects.
This is a 6-month minimum, part-time, well-paid internship for students or recent grads.
Responsibilities:
- Create illustrations to be used in infographics, advertisements, and videos
- Design/layout advertisements for social media
- Find photos and graphics to use on our website and in advertisements
- Edit, retouch, and modify photos and graphics in order to be used on our website, in advertisements, and in videos
- Participate in the brainstorming and creation of graphics mock-ups and illustrated video storyboards
Qualifications
We’re looking for applicants who have experience with:
- Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Acrobat Pro
- Working with layout, color, grids, icons, typography, proportion, photography, and internet media
- Social media marketing (a huge plus)
- Basic HTML and CSS (a plus)

NICABM is seeking an COMPUTER SCIENCE INTERN to join the team in our Storrs office.
Qualifications
We’re looking for applicants who have experience with:
- HTML
- CSS
- PHP
- mySQL (or any other SQL based database experience)
- C#
- Linux-based server administration a plus
While you may not be familiar with everything listed above, general fluency with HTML and CSS is essential.With experience in other programming languages, you will be able to learn the skills necessary to be successful in this position.

NICABM is seeking a WEB AND GRAPHIC DESIGN INTERN to join our Storrs office. We’re looking for motivated people to support our design team with digital projects.
This is a 6-month (minimum) part-time, paid position.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the brainstorming and creation of page layouts and web advertisements
- Create and edit web pages and templates in WordPress
- Lay out study guides and transcripts in Microsoft Publisher, publish materials as PDF files for web distribution
- Design and edit still image advertisements for use on Facebook and Google
- Create illustrations for use on our website, in infographics, and in our products
- Ensure website usability on mobile devices and desktop
Qualifications
- Experience with HTML, CSS, and SASS
- Experience using Photoshop and Illustrator
- Awareness of the latest trends in web and graphic design, and ability to adapt these trends into our company’s brand image
- Ability to keep projects on track creatively and in accordance with production deadlines
- Strong organization and time management skills
- A positive attitude and flexibility for last-minute changes
- Social media marketing experience a huge plus!
- Experience with JavaScript, PHP and MySQL a plus
