Without fear, I would be entirely myself. I’ve been able to live this recently: At the end of 2022 I experienced my first sound immersion (also called sound baths) and right away knew that was what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I embarked on a course of study right away, and as a result have become a certified sound therapist, serving individual clients and groups giving sound immersions both on my own and in the nonprofit group I’m a part of now. Then, I remembered a mysterious dream I had as a young adult, which stayed with me. As it turns out, without fear I could recognize my calling from fifty years ago, and pursue it.
I’d be an experimenting artist, exploring new processes and combining them with those I know, and always creating wonderful works of art. I’d be proudly telling others that I am an artist, fearlessly exhibiting my work and happily mentoring others. All from a space of an open heart and a loving intent.
As a therapist starting out in private practice as part of my second act after having been a school counsellor, I would be someone who doesn’t find myself sweating prior to seeing a client, fearing that I will not be good enough. I would not worry about a client deciding not to rebook, believing that if that were to happen, it would be because they didn’t like me or thought I was incompetent. I would feel less hesitation to try things with clients that I haven’t yet.
Fortunately, with grounding and mindfulness practice, I am mostly able to manage these things, to be close to my authentic self, and to work effectively with clients. The work continues towards becoming closer to my authentic self.
Id be having more fun dancing as I enjoy but anxiety has kept me away. I would have a larger social circle and go out more. Id go out on my own and be less lonely.
I would be happy, joyous and free. I would have meaningful connections with others. I would express myself creatively. I would travel alone or with a friend.
