Thank you. This was so helpfu. Who would I be if I didn’t believe something was wrong with me? I would be a good mom and partner. I would not worry and I would be content. I may be a good therapist to others one day.
Without fear that this might be the only time given me, would I grab the moment, grab those improbable chances and ideas? I go into the garden for fear it might rain later ( and being England it will). I know now, as I look back, I was only offered one chance for so many opportunities and experiences I have had. Only when fear makes me passive do I then regret. I am first generation post Holocaust. The gift has always been knowing life can change or end in an instant.
This is not to say I don’t value your lovely offering, which I will also share with others Tara. Only, on reflection, without the fear and hope that propel me forward I would have missed so much! (Worry now I do without!). Nadija, Art Psychotherapist and Musician.
Thanks Tara. You explain everything so beautifully. I love the phrase “real but not true”.
To answer your question, I have always faced my fears when putting myself out there, but without so much fear, it would have been so much easier. ❤️
Fear is one of the most important factor influencing almost every person. It must be dealt with for healthy living. your efforts on such education are commendable. Keep it up.

More free to take risks & create. I would be a better friend, partner & innovator at developing new ideas & collaborating as well as connecting with others.
I would stop fearing “being uncomfortable”… “imagining discomfort”… and spend more time “creating” and building the initiative that I long to share with the world.
I have listened to your video with great interest and I feel that what you are saying can be a terrific help to anyone caught in the fogs and dreads of self-doubt, especially if used as a regular resource.
“Real but not True” is simply beautiful in its quintessential and most direct way of bringing clarity and restoring presence.
Thank you for that. I can only say that without thinking there’s something wrong with me, I can be present. And with that, I can sense how free I really am.
I would be the person I was meant to be on a journey of love. But for me when I answer I say I would be fooling myself and egotistical to think I could live without stuff to fear.
I am not sure. I don’t know if I have ever lived my life without a background of fear being present- a fear of loss. I appreciate that there have been moments of resting in awareness, free of a concept of self but I cannot sustain that state, I experience that I am not in control. Your feedback appreciated.
Who would I believe I’d be if I didn’t believe anything was wrong with me? I imagine it would be quite peaceful inside and my nervous system would be so appreciative.
I have never known what it is to feel like there is nothing wrong with me. I am trying to imagine it however, and I think I would feel hopeful and more content in life. I could stop running away from a truth that I don’t really want to believe. somehow believing it’s not true feels like denial? that’s my challenge. thank you.x
Fear is excitement with an edge of feeling afraid. No problem, if the source of fear is immediate and realistic. It sets one in motion. It’s the fear of which the source remains elusive that paralyses.
I think fear of failure is really fear of judgement, imo. Not wanting to be judged and harmed through rejection and criticism. I think it is fear of pain that logically makes one cautious. Breaking wrong belief, own or implanted, is good advice.
Without any fear whatsoever… possibly dead. Fear can be a very useful emotion. it is our body communicating that something needs our attention. the problem comes when fear is like a smoke detector – it doesn’t differentiate between the toast burning and the house being on fire or when our nervous system is stuck in a threat response. Fear itself isn’t “bad”.
Without fear, I would be more self accepting, and take more risks. I may also become less careful and not consider all the consequences of my actions. Sometimes there is benefit in overcoming fear and doing it anyway. It makes me more compassionate and gives me an understanding of human feelings. Having no fear can be a two edged sword. It can be very helpful in overcoming past trauma by challenging fears that have been learnt from bad experience. It also lead to being overconfident and ignoring real danger.
I see a beautiful, courageous woman. A lover of truth, of all life on earth. I see a peaceful and yet clear activist, a dancer, singer, painter. A woman that brings people together to live their highest potential.
we without fear i would enjoy every moment of every day without dwelling on what might befall those i love so much. Erich Fromm said that there is nothing to fear except fear itself. i try to remember that.
Brave and joyful.
The best thing for me is to name it, and give it some space and feel it and I have gotten more and more space for bravery and is stronger and stronger. Sometimes comes joy and later.
