For many of us, ringing in the new year means setting goals – maybe replacing a bad habit (or two) with a good one, or doing something completely out of the ordinary.
Just a quick internet search tells me it’s likely that a lot of us may even be setting similar intentions . . .
. . . like eating better, and getting healthy.
What you choose to eat can have lasting effects on your body, and your brain, which may be why diet is such a popular new year’s resolution.
But food isn’t only important for good health.
For many who grow it, food symbolizes opportunity. And for farmers in Africa who rely on their harvest for income, farming doesn’t just put food on their table . . .
. . . it can help pull an entire community out of poverty.
So this year, we’ve set a new goal (and yes, it still relates to food). We’re donating half of the proceeds from the Holiday Special to the One Acre Fund, an organization that works hard to empower farmers in Africa (many of whom are women).
Since 2006, One Acre has been providing farmers in Africa with seeds, fertilizer, and the know-how to make their businesses thrive. And they expect to reach 251,000 more farm families by the end of 2014.
So this year, we’re offering our Trauma 2013 webinar series as the Holiday Special, and for every purchase, half of the proceeds will go to the One Acre Fund and its mission to turn farmers in Africa into self-sustaining entrepreneurs.
For more about the One Acre Fund, check out this video.
One Acre’s mission to provide farmers in Africa with much needed support, and to empower them to get out of poverty are two of the reasons why we chose them as the charity to donate half of the proceeds from this year’s Holiday Special to.
In this jam-packed webinar series, we’ve put together a world-renowned team of experts to bring you the latest practices for helping clients recover from trauma.
For more, be sure to check out our Holiday Special – and get the 2013 Trauma webinar series for its lowest price ever.
But, this special opportunity won’t last for long. The Holiday Special ends tomorrow.
I’m so excited for what the new year has in store for NICABM. We’re planning a year full of new ideas and techniques (with some surprises along the way).
What are you excited for in 2014? Do you have any goals you’d like to hit? Please share your thoughts in the comments section below.
And have a happy, and safe, New Year!

Looking for charities. Have started an exercise program with my sister for benefits to us both. Cooking according to having a better brain. 2014 is going to be a great year.

If we are receiving Ruth’s emails and registered for NICABM, why do we have to register for every free offering posted. It is annoying. Seems like there could be a check off box that we could check or not to release our email to the person offering something like the 5 minute Brain rewire, etc.
