The brain’s plasticity is revolutionary but its evolutionary history is pretty remarkable, too.
What’s amazing is that the brain has been evolving since our earliest predecessor, “Tool Maker” first appeared on the planet.
But it’s only recently (during these last few minutes of our evolutionary past when neuroscience has been able to take us inside the living brain using imaging techniques) that we’re now learning so much.
We’ve made a short video to take you on a tour of the last few million years in the evolution of the brain. Leading off with how our evolutionary brains have tripled in size in the areas of social capacities (language, cooperative planning, altruism, and empathy), he’ll delve into the three neural circuits that are dedicated to creating empathy.
If you’d like to hear more about how spiritual practices can support neuroplasticity and even strengthen neuronal firings and connections, join me in our teleseminar series on The New Brain Science.

Jackie, I don’t make the videos myself – a student on our staff does it. Congratulations on your award winning videos.

This isn’t the best place to post this question, but I’ll give you some adcive.Look on the Consumer Credit Counseling Services Site for a location near you, you can also call them. This is a non-profit organization that will work with you, and your creditors, to reduce payments and/or interest rates so that you can make your payments. They will also help you decide if bankruptcy is right for you.You can also check with your local United Way or library to see if there are other agencies in your area that may offer similar services. Talk to one of these services before going to a financial institute that might raise your interest rates even higher.

Ruth,
That was a great video. I was impressed with the quality of the information but also with the technology you used to make it. Is this technology covered in one of the courses you are advertising? I won awards for creating videos with children but this is something new for me, using the internet/computer for production. I’d like to learn this format. It looks similar to power point.

Ruth – I greatly appreciate what you and your organization are doing to help people gain greater knowledge and awareness of how the mind and brain interact and impact us at many different levels. I have only been able to take in one of the telecoferences due to my schedule and was wondering if these would be available to listen to at a later date, even if for a fee?
Thanks…
