I would be able to see deeper than the surface of the hurt, – be wiser and more caring. My heart would open up – love would flow. I would feel at peace and be free. I would be more connected with my self and the other. This is how this Lesson made me feel as I practiced it. Thank you ♥️
I think I’d be pretty happy. I think I Blame snd judge myself a lot, maybe more than others, but I also notice how quick my mind goes into negative assessments of others and I’m often unaware of it. So it’s a lot of work and exhausting to feel like I’m moving forward to then realize I’m not that far along, in fact not at all it seems. It’s good to know myself truly. That’s a good place to start right?
The judgment still plagues me, yet, it is far less than in earlier years. I continue to work on it… The blaming I did of everyone and everything ended about 10 years ago during my recovery from an addiction. Since that time, I am heavily into self-reflection and accountability. We need to own our behavior – all of it – and become empowered. I emphasize this in my forgiveness teachings, including coaching and courses I have created.
My forgiveness work is based on my own personal experience of being an angry, bitter, blaming victim for 30+ years. After I crashed and burned with my drinking and became sober, I found myself learning to live in a state of gratitude and positivity. Your workshop interests me as I may discover new techniques to pass along – with appropriate acknowledgment, of course. At the very least, the new information will enrich and enliven my work.
As far as compassion goes, I personally discovered compassion is a precursor to forgiveness. I teach others to become compassionate, and then, to allow forgiveness to form. Again, getting more info about this topic will enrich my teachings. Thank you!
I believe I would be a happier person, much lighter in heart without carrying so much weight. And I’m sure I would be easier to be with, easier to love, easier to listen to–and much more effective in communication and in maintaining loving relationships. I’d live with more ease with a heart that’s easier to keep open. The word ease has come up five times so far! The judgement and blame I carry create so much tension and stress–ease would be wonderful.

Certainly a more open hearted person who could hopefully make more room for experiencing connection and bliss. Also a person who can see the vulnerability of others and choose to practice compassion.
I will be single as I admit I can never change my husband or anyone else. Alone, where I can get to know myself again, rather than wasting my life trying to get someone else to give me what only I can give myself.
Beautiful information we all need. I have been doing the 40 days of meditation you have given us the chance to do. I am a little behind but I am getting a lot out of the meditations and instructions. The compassion is very important for myself and for others.
I would be more gentle & kind.
I would have more to give.
I would feel welcomed-that I belong and am perfectly imperfect-
and so are you,
and so are we…..
Thank you for sharing such an enlightening practice. I am also a daughter of an alcoholic and I relate to taking on blame and shame all too easily.
This video workshop helped me to see my vulnerability more closely and I was surprised, in a way, at how gentle it was. All too often I’m used to being hit over the head with shame and blame- by others and towards myself. Getting back in touch and being inside a “heart space” is a safe place to be-like lighting a lantern in the darkness. I felt more whole and loved here. After being in the Hospital for covid related pneumonia I became aware of how important and powerful the mind/ heart/ body connection is in battling a disease. I am changing. And now I see that I can go further and do better to alleviate my suffering and to reconnect with life and people. Thank you ? ?
Thank you. I meditate every day. I definitely have people In My life now and in my past that I am angry with, and blame. Anger fuels me when triggered by the memories. For many years my body reacted with pain nausea and tension. because it was subconscious. I will practice these tools in the moment. Thank you very much.
Tara: I am very grateful for your generous ongoing sharing.. I was struggling to find my direction in life before COVID..what happened in the past year was a chance to just be with what , while seeking to learn from what was. I am trying to learn to be with what is in a balanced way but the ongoing environmental loss adds to my sense of despair making it difficult to be with what is and feeling a need to disconnect instead of move towards and relax into life.
With love and gratitude ?

Definitely a better version of myself and a good step away from negative and depressive thought patterns. Less darkness, pain and anger, and more love, resource and understanding when let down, failed or treated badly.

I find these workshops so helpful. I can get to a place of ease and equanimity. I see clearly how letting go of judgment and chronic blame subvert intimacy and connection. Thank you, Tara.
I suffer from unresolved complex trauma. I can do the U Turn technique when the person is away. However I can’t seem to remember & apply it when the person is around and I am triggered. That person does not understand boundaries & is a big part of my trauma history. What programs do you have to help resolve complex trauma? I live in a small city and there are no resources for appropriate CPTSD treatment. Thank you!
I miss hugging my daughter and have been frustrated at her distance and also not yet meeting my 1 year old grandson. I cried as I realized how much I miss my own parents, especially being that my own mother died at only 57 years old. Thank you for your lovely compassion and story. I released and feel grateful.
clear to me and useful. been meditation for years and practice with Tara. via books and recordings. wondering if someone who hasn’t been involved in self healing like those can make progress
good luck
This brought me to tears. Thank you. I thought to myself that I wouldn’t even exist if I stepped out of self blame and criticism. Like I don’t know who I’d even be. That’s how much it’s become a part of me the past few years (and maybe my whole life). Is there a new book you have on radical compassion? I never got around to radical acceptance and wondering if I should wait for a new one or this training. Not sure that I have any capacity right now. Sounds healing
