Thank you, I practice mindfulness daily. In the past I have been in positions and my boss has been either a dry drunk or an alcoholic. Their actions would cause me to be fearful of job loss. For years after I would be angry at them. Only by participating in a recovery program was I able to leave the anger behind.
I served 30 years in the military and have a unique perspective through which to apply this important work. This was an extremely informative workshop for me. Thank you, Dr. Brach, for giving this to us. I am a Radical Forgiveness Coach and have recently begun to integrate new concepts such as polyvagal theory into my work. It has had an incredibly positive impact on my clients. Clearly, the work you do in Radical Compassion and Acceptance is highly complementary to my work. I especially liked how you applied it to world affairs and our current social struggles, which is another area of interest for me. I look forward to learning more about your program. All the best to you.
Your soothing voice along with the guided imagery was very comforting and allowed me to take steps towards healing. I will continue the practice for my own growth and awareness so that I can also be present and assist my clients through this process. A great u turn concept that changes PTSD
into a healing process could be seen as Post Traumatic Growth Syndrome!

Thank you what a beautiful exercise. It came to me at a perfect time as I’ve set up boundaries to deal with an abusive alcohol affected sister. It helps to Shift from seeing my sister struggle with compassion to self compassion and self compassion.
I looked for reassurance and acceptance in friendship when my family, then adolescent boyfriend failed to make me feel whole. After years of looking on the outside for that love, I accept that that the only way to cultivate that is within me and my creator. I want and deserve love and forgiveness and compassion for my humanity, but I will first see in others and perceive that level playing field. I am not better or wanting. We are each given gifts and struggles, and I must create who I am from that. Thank you for the awareness and change in paradigm.

As an abandoned daughter of an alcoholic father (andcother abuses) I am aware that I take on the shame and blame. I got far enough to forgive or understand those adults responsible but have found it difficult to try and parent my inner abused child. I feel THIS simple practice I’d finally a starting point for becoming a loving parent to myself. Thank you! Xx

It is tough to let go of judgement after being so involve in this way of protecting yourself by blaming other peoples. I think the key here is to change your perspective on “how to protect” yourself.
