Last Sunday, I emailed to let you know that we were holding a Day of Donation.
After the Treating Trauma series grew nearly two and a half times over last year, we were feeling very thankful for all the listeners throughout the world who made this success possible.
And out of our gratitude we wanted to give.
That’s when we learned about Smile Train, a non-profit providing free surgeries and holistic rehabilitation for children in developing nations who are born with cleft lips and palates.
These children struggle to speak and eat, and they’re often not allowed to attend school or hold jobs. In some countries, infants with clefts are abandoned at birth. But Smile Train’s mission is to give these children the same opportunities as those born without clefts.
So today, I’m happy to report that we took in $14,070 in Gold Subscriptions last Sunday. We decided to round up to $15,000 (Our staff would tell you how much I like round numbers), and now we’re sending this donation off to Smile Train.
We’re honored to be able to assist worthy organizations like Smile Train that strive to improve the health and wellbeing of children around the world.
That’s why I want to thank everyone who participated in the Treating Trauma series.
Whether you listened to the broadcasts and commented on the boards, registered for a Gold Subscription on the first day or on the Day of Donation, it’s your support throughout the series that makes it possible for us to give.
So thank you for joining us in this series. As we continue to seek the most effective treatments for our patients, we’re changing the way medicine is practiced.
Please feel free to comment on any useful information you may have discovered through this series on the treatment of trauma.

Dear Ruth and Staff and fellow participants,
I was very happy to pay the gold fee which went to contributing to help the children with physical and emotional concerns. It was a brilliant idea to do this on the Sunday. I’m so glad I checked my e-mail that day.
I am so grateful to everyone for this series. It helps me feel more buoyant in my life’s work. I work with people who have a lot of life disturbing and traumatic events and the series is helpful and affirming.
